• When someone says “good,” what do you think? Paint a picture of what “good” is together as a group.
  • Read Psalm 34. One of the main themes of the Psalm is that good comes to those who pursue good, but David was running for his life at this time. Does good come to those who do good, or not? Can we bank on these promises?
  • Read Joshua 7. Why was Achan’s sin so bad? Why do you think verse 20-21 is patterned after the fall story? What does it mean to “covet” (ESV) something? Is there a biblical difference between wanting and coveting? What might be some promises from God that could help to battle coveting?
  • (Optional question) David is lifted up as a “man after God’s own heart,” but he also carried a large character flaw. How to we work through this tension? What verses might speak into the tension? What helpful truths can we gather from it?
